Made of polypropylene, fibers are used to increase the structural strength of concrete. Through this new production line, Sika will continue to expand its range of concrete additives and position itself as a single-source supplier for the construction industry.

The global market for steel and synthetic fibers for concrete applications is estimated to be approximately 687 million euros, with synthetic fibers growing the fastest. Crude fibers are mainly used to replace steel reinforced concrete or shotcrete structures. Typical areas of use include tunnels, mining, precast concrete components and industrial floors, as well as foundations and floor blocks. The new fibers not only improve the safety, durability and applicability of the concrete, but they are also added to the ready-mixed concrete during the mixing process, thereby improving the efficiency of the construction process.

Expand your knowledge and fully understand all aspects of water-based coatings-from production to performance to the special features of its use! With the slow transition from solvent-based resins and coatings to water-based coatings, "Resins for Water-Based Coatings" is a must-read for any formulator who wants to expand his knowledge. The author discusses important aspects of the "solvent to water transition" in the past 40-50 years, deeply explores the key aspects and theories behind the production, performance and application of these resins, and provides an overview of how they are currently used in water-based coatings .
