African Leaders Attend PM Abiy's Inauguration Ceremony -

Addis Ababa, October 4, 2021 (Walta) – President Salva Kiir Mardayat of South Sudan has congratulated Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed on his swearing-in ceremony.He lauded the support of the governments and people of Ethiopia for the independence of Africa.He recounted the support of Ethiopian leaders including Emperor Haile Selassie, President Mengistu Hailemariam and Prime Minister Meles Zenawi for the independence of South Sudan.He also appreciated the Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed led current government of Ethiopia for sustaining the country's support for his country.He reiterated his country Sudan's unconditional support for Ethiopia in all aspects.He expressed confidence that Ethiopia will resolve all the circumstances it is now facing through peaceful mechanisms.Similarly, Ugandan President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has congratulated Prime Minister Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on his election as Prime Minister of Ethiopia for a second term.He also congratulated Ethiopians at large over the inauguration of the new government.Saying that politics of identity caused some problems, he called on Africans to cement unity.President of Djibouti Ismail Omar Guelleh, on his part addressing the inauguration of the new Ethiopian government, praised Ethiopia's democratic process recounting the country's age old initiation for Pan-Africanism.Congratulating Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, the president said “I stand before you today to bring you a message of hope and encouragement on my behalf and on behalf of my Djiboutian people”The Ethiopian empire took the lead as a Pan-African nation as the first member of the League of Nations and a founding member of the Organization of African Unity, he said.He expressed strong optimism that Ethiopia will overcome all its challenges without the intervention of external forces and continue its path of fastest growth.Ethiopia can draw inspiration from its yesterday's achievements to transform its development and growth to a higher position.He also congratulated the new year Irrecha festival wishing a better future.He further vowed the full support of Djibouti and its people for Ethiopia.Walta Media and Communication Corporate SC (WMCC) is a broadcast media company based in Addis Ababa.The company which owns TV and Radio Stations aspires to become a pan African media company currently disseminating information in local and international languages.
